TCPN approves web-based bus driver training program

After careful review of several school bus driver training programs, The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) has chosen a school bus safety driver training and development program called Safe Pupil Transport for its national network of member school districts. TCPN awarded the contract after determining the web-based learning management system, developed by Texas-based Vertical Alliance Group, was best suited and qualified to meet the needs of the thousands of school districts serviced each year.

“The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN) is pleased to announce that Vertical Alliance Group, Inc. has been awarded an annual contract for [its School Bus Driver Safety Training and Development Program],” said Doug Rupe, the TCPN Contract Manager, in his letter dated July 31st of this year.

Vertical Alliance Group developed SafePupilTransport.com in response to the reported 16,000 school bus collisions that occur annually nationwide, many of which can be attributed to driver negligence and improper training.
